Cardiac Arrest Vs Heart Attack

Share

People often use these terms interchangeable, but they are not the same.

What is Cardiac Arrest?

CARDIAC ARREST occurs when the heart malfunctions and stops beating unexpectedly.

Cardiac arrest is an “ELECTRICAL” problem.

Cardiac arrest is triggered by an electrical malfunction in the heart that causes an irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia). With its pumping action disrupted, the heart cannot pump blood to the brain, lungs, and other organs
Cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death. Cardiac arrest affects thousands of people annually with about three-quarters of them occurring in the home.

What is a Heart Attack?

A HEART ATTACK occurs when blood flow to the heart is blocked.

A heart attack is a “CIRCULATION” problem.

A blocked artery prevents oxygen-rich blood from reaching a section of the heart.

If the blocked artery is not reopened quickly, the part of the heart normally nourished by that artery begins to die.

What is the Link?

Most heart attacks do not lead to cardiac arrest.

But when cardiac arrest occurs, heart attack is a common cause.

Other conditions may also disrupt the heart’s rhythm and lead to cardiac arrest.

In German New Medicine (GNM), causes are not seen as purely physical but as responses to biological conflicts that affect the psyche, brain, and organ simultaneously.

  • Related to territorial conflict (especially in men).
  • Conflict theme: “I lost my territory” or “My territory is threatened”.
  • For example: losing a partner, job, position, status, or facing a major challenge within one’s “territory.”
  • Left heart (coronary arteries) → men with active sexual role, or right-handed women in post-menopause.
  • Right heart → women in reproductive age or left-handed men.
  • During the conflict-active phase → narrowing of coronary arteries.
  • During the healing phase (when conflict resolves) → myocardial infarction occurs due to repair and swelling, leading to pain and possible crisis.
  • Often corresponds to an intense conflict shock (DHS – Dirk Hamer Syndrome).
  • Example conflicts: sudden separation, death-fright, losing a loved one, shock of betrayal.
  • The heart’s electrical system may go into shock due to an overwhelming fear-death conflict (“I’m going to die”).
  • It is often the body’s extreme biological response to an unresolved or sudden massive conflict impact.

Summary (GNM View):

  • Heart Attack → Healing phase after a territorial conflict.
  • Cardiac Arrest → Sudden intense fear-death shock or electrical breakdown of the heart due to overwhelming conflict load.

💡 In GNM/SMS, the key is not “disease” but the psyche–brain–organ program that is triggered by specific shocks. Healing comes from resolving or re-contextualizing the conflict.
