In the language of flowers, chamomile is a symbol of energy and patience in adversity, because of its great ability to restore equilibrium and support the nervous system.  Chamomile was traditionally used in love potions and at weddings, and to wash the face and hair to attract the beloved.  Our ancestors also respected it as a grave plant, to ease the passage of the dead into the world to come

Chamomile has been best known as a calmative.  As a nervine chamomile is safe and effective, gentle to the stomach, it can also be used to relieve indigestion.

Chamomile has a powerful soothing and sedative effect which is harmless.

Its strong antiseptic properties make it an invaluable lotion, the flowers are good for resolving toothache and earache.  The herb itself is and ingredient in herb beers.  It has extensive healing properties.
